Our Curriculum

At Eleanor Rose Education Center, our curriculum is rooted in standards-based instruction guided by Common Core and state standards, ensuring academic rigor and consistency across grade levels. We use EnVision Math to build strong problem-solving and conceptual understanding, and follow the Science of Reading framework supported by platforms like GetEpic and CommonLit to develop literacy skills. Writing is taught explicitly through the RACES strategy (Restate, Answer, Cite, Explain, Summarize), empowering students to construct well-organized written responses. In addition, we emphasize the full writing process—planning, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing—so students grow as confident communicators across genres including narrative, opinion, and informative writing. In Science, we align with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) through hands-on, project-based learning that fosters inquiry and discovery. Our Social Studies program integrates iCivics to promote civic engagement, critical thinking, and real-world application. The National Core Arts Standards (NCAS) guide our creative curriculum, encouraging self-expression through the arts. Woven throughout all subjects are the EREC values of Inclusion, Cultural Appreciation, and Identity-Building, ensuring every child’s unique strengths and background are honored and celebrated in their learning journey.
